Lisa Spence, Huddersfield Neighbourhoods Coordinator writes:
For a while now I have noticed less crime being in the report and the reason for this has been that we could only include crimes where the victim has consented to publicity, ie their crime report being put out into the public arena…..
I have now managed to secure the forces permission to include those reports whereby the reporting person hasn’t consented to publicity, with the caveat that they should not be identifiable by the details included in the report. Therefore, the report is now in two parts, the upper most section is the usual report with the usual details of crime whereby we can give you as much detail as necessary, the later part of the report now also gives an overview of crime in the area where I can’t give you any more details such as the location, but it does at least say what other types of crime are going on in the ward area and also how that crime was committed.
