*National Citizen Service (NCS) is an once-in-a-lifetime rite of passage for all 15 – 17 year olds that builds skills and confidence to prepare them for success in work and in life.
The NCS programme is designed to build skills in social mobility, social engagement and social cohesion. It is a four part programme hosted throughout the country aiming to build skills of Team work, Leadership and Communication, whilst enabling teenagers to connect to their local community through Social Action Projects designed and delivered by them in partnership with local partners.
Six years on with a thriving programme, young people from all over Kirklees are desperate to make a difference. Our ambition – to ensure as many young people as possible regardless of background, ability or ambitions, get the chance to change their lives and reap all the rewards NCS brings throughout their lifetime with a new sense of empowerment and engagement with the community.
