The colourful blankets recently  knitted by the Community Centre based Knit and Natter group  have been put to good use. They have been distributed to 47 newly arrived Syrian refugees. including young children and babies, on the Greek island of Samos.
A volunteer reports
“They brought such happiness. Some of the refugees spoke good enough English for me  to explain where they came from. They were so moved and insistent that I pass on their thanks…. It was lovely to see how proud the kids were of their blankets and how much joy the pretty colours gave them”

The group is continuing to make the blankets and would welcome any donations of wool which can be left at the library.15 syrian refugee rugs
