15 syrian refugee rugsBlankets knitted by Kirkheaton Knit and Natter group have been well received by refugees on the Greek island of Samos.
Over 700 people fleeing conflict in Syria, Afghanistan and Africa  have endured great hardships before they arrived on Samos. They land with little or no money and very few personal possessions. Unfortunately their problems don’t end there as they are placed in detention centres to await decisions about their future. In the meantime they are desperately in need of anything that will help them to make their stay on the island a little more comfortable so the blankets are very welcome.
